Motorola One Zoom

Motorola launched its new One Zoom smartphone at the Lenovo Tech Life event at IFA 2019 in Berlin, Germany.

The new device boasts a quad-lens camera system on the rear of its chassis which works with AI technology to deliver the best photos possible in a variety of lighting situations.

Motorola also launched its new Moto E6 Plus smartphone at the event, which offers great specifications and features at an affordable price point.

Both smartphones will be available in September 2019 in Europe and the United States, with the following pricing:

• Motorola One Zoom – €429
• Moto E6 Plus 32GB – €139
• Moto E6 Plus 64GB – €159

There is currently no information available regarding the South African release date or local pricing for these two new smartphones.

Camera and design

Both the Moto E6 Plus and the Motorola One Zoom offer impressive camera systems for their price points, with the cheaper device featuring a dual-lens camera with a 13MP main camera and a depth sensor.

The Motorola One Zoom raises the bar with its impressive 48MP main camera, supplemented by a trio of specialised lenses which enable a variety of applications.

An 8MP telephoto camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS) enables impressive zoom capabilities – up to 10x hybrid zoom – while the 117-degree ultrawide lens and 5MP depth camera deliver great landscape shots and intelligent background blur, respectively.

The Motorola One Zoom also boasts a 6.4-inch high-resolution OLED display with an in-screen fingerprint sensor, in addition to a large 4,000mAh battery and a 25MP front-facing camera placed in a small notch at the top of the device.

The device will be available in three colour options, Electric Gray, Brushed Bronze, and Cosmic Purple, the latter of which will be exclusive to customers who purchase the device through Amazon.
